Sea Otter Australia Volunteer Terms and Conditions
By completing the volunteer application process for Sea Otter Australia via the online system, you ("the Volunteer") acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the event. Your agreement to contribute to Sea Otter Australia as a volunteer signifies your acceptance of these terms.
Volunteer Responsibilities and Conduct
As a volunteer assisting Sea Otter Australia (including its employees, agents, and contractors), you agree that, at all times, you shall:
Abide by Policies: Adhere to all policies and procedures of Sea Otter Australia, as may be amended from time to time.
Attend Briefings: Attend all required volunteer briefing sessions.
Fulfill Shifts: Attend all allocated volunteer shifts. If you are unavailable due to illness, injury, or extreme circumstances, you will contact the Workforce Manager as soon as possible.
Professional Conduct: Represent Sea Otter Australia in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Task Execution & Direction: Undertake your assigned tasks and duties as outlined and follow the directions of your Sea Otter Australia Workforce Manager or Area Lead.
Seek Assistance: Seek assistance as needed from the Workforce Manager or Event crew.
Uniform & Accreditation: Wear the Sea Otter Australia uniform (including accreditation pass and lanyard) provided to you at all times while on duty, ensuring it is neat and presentable.
Vehicle Operation (if applicable): If requested and you freely agree to drive, you will operate any Sea Otter Australia vehicle in a safe and responsible manner after completing the necessary vehicle paperwork.
Financial Responsibility: Not incur any debt or pledge any credit on behalf of Sea Otter Australia at any time without the prior approval of your Workforce Manager and/or Area Manager.
Report Concerns: Advise Sea Otter Australia of any situation that is unsafe or unsatisfactory, or any tasks you feel you are unable or uncomfortable undertaking as part of your duties.
Media Policy: You are NOT permitted to speak to the media about Sea Otter Australia or any incidents that might occur at the event under any circumstances.
Insurance Coverage
You understand that while fulfilling your duties as defined within your position description, you will be covered by Rocky Trail Entertainment's current insurance policy.
Sea Otter Australia's Commitment
In return, you understand that Sea Otter Australia shall use all reasonable endeavors to provide:
Safe Environment: A safe and enjoyable environment in which to perform your tasks and duties.
Briefings & Supervision: Briefings and supervision to enable you to carry out your duties as a volunteer.
Volunteer Recognition: Recognition of your status as a volunteer, including benefits such as meals and uniforms, depending on the nature of your volunteer role.
Reporting Mechanism: A mechanism to report any unsafe or unsatisfactory situations you may encounter.
Assumption of Risk & Event Rights
You acknowledge and agree that you undertake your duties as a volunteer for Sea Otter Australia at your own risk and have no claim against Sea Otter Australia or Rocky Trail Entertainment for any loss suffered by you. You also acknowledge and agree that Sea Otter Australia reserves all its rights to supplement, amend, or otherwise vary any and all Terms and Conditions, and policies and procedures that affect your role as a volunteer at any time and without notice. Sea Otter Australia also reserves all its rights to vary or change your responsibilities as a volunteer or withdraw its appointment of you as a volunteer at any time, without being required to show cause.
Privacy
You acknowledge and agree that:
Media Consent: You may be photographed or filmed during Sea Otter Australia, and you consent to Rocky Trail Entertainment using your picture and likeness contained in any photographs or film for publicising the event and for promotion of any future event organised by Rocky Trail Entertainment or its partners.
Personal Information: Rocky Trail Entertainment collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise handles your personal information in accordance with the terms of its Privacy Policy Statement.
Contact Details & Communications: Your contact details may be used by Rocky Trail Entertainment and/or third parties partnering with the event, including but not limited to Sea Otter Australia sponsors. Any correspondence sent from these entities would be restricted to future events, news, and promotions, and will include the ability to opt-out. Should you not wish to be contacted for any other reason than to be provided with information relating to Sea Otter Australia, please advise by emailing ride@rockytrailentertainment.com.
